I almost missed this day a week or so ago. I just bought my first bottle of Absinthe this last summer, wasn’t sure what to expect. Now that I have a better handle on what it is, I have an appreciation for the Green Fairy, and look for drink recipes to use it in.

Probably the most popular and widely available brand is Jim Beam Rye. I think Old Overholt is the oldest brand (they survived Prohibition!). Rye’s popularity is on the rise which means that more brands will be emerging in the next couple years.
